Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of natural oils for temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads who carefully hand-weave each strand of this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, demonstrating its superior durability.

Daily Care

Remove dust and dirt by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with water to remove detergent residue, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to the nature of hand-weaving, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, uneven weaving, or variations in dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the unique charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery upon request.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
