Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads one strand at a time using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Points to Note

As these are hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery upon request.
Removing the pom-poms does not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
