Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

As these are hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool. This smell will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pompoms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh rug can be removed before delivery. Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh rug.
