Characteristics of the Region (Varamin)

Varamin is located near Tehran, the capital of Iran, and has historically been connected by the Silk Road. In Varamin, where diverse ethnic groups and peoples live, traditional hand-woven "kilims" are particularly famous. The color palette of Varamin kilims has changed over time; older pieces often feature vibrant hues, while more recent ones tend to use subdued, darker colors. While various patterns exist in the designs, geometric patterns known as "Cheshm Gir" are particularly characteristic of this region. Wool is the primary material, but some pieces also incorporate cotton, creating variations in texture and feel.

What is a Kilim?

Persian hand-woven kilims are globally popular traditional hand-woven textiles that become more appealing with age. They are referred to as vintage kilims, old kilims, or antique kilims depending on when they were woven, and are loved by people of all ages. While most kilims are made of wool, some are also produced using cotton or silk. They are made from natural materials, and natural dyes are used for coloring, making them safe to use. These hand-woven kilims are durably woven and are based on the design styles of tribes and ethnic groups, known as tribal rugs. They are characterized by geometric patterns inspired by nature and animals, with each kilim having a unique design.
Various ethnic groups inhabit the vast land of Iran. Each region of origin has distinct design and color characteristics, allowing you to enjoy a wide variety of design patterns.

Other Uses for Kilims

Kilims are widely used not only as simple carpets or floor coverings but also as decorative elements on walls, or as part of other interior items such as sofas, tables, and beds. Their distinctive designs and colors are a prominent feature, often utilized as accents in a room. Kilims are not merely decorative items but are considered important elements that enrich the overall atmosphere of a room and highlight its individuality. They add a unique charm and warmth to the living space. By incorporating kilims, you can create a life surrounded by art and comfort, enjoying a space filled with things you love.

Kilims and Interior Design

Kilims offer great flexibility in how they can be incorporated into various interior styles. In modern interiors, introducing the unique patterns and colors of a kilim into a simple space can add an accent. For natural or Scandinavian interiors, combining kilims with wooden furniture, plants, or other natural materials can enhance their warmth and natural feel. They also pair well with bohemian aesthetics; placing them on the floor or hanging them on the wall can elevate the overall atmosphere of a room. Kilims feature ethnic designs and a tribal feel, making them a good match for interiors that incorporate cultural elements from Iran, Turkey, or Morocco. Arranging them as tapestries or cushions can add warmth and depth to the entire room.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom. If you notice any stubborn dirt, dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape, weaving irregularities, or variations in dyeing. Please enjoy these as part of the charm of hand-woven items.

The first one was a doormat, which I bought online. It was a really good product, so this time I came to the store looking for a Gabbeh large enough to place in front of my sofa. I received very polite service and found a favorite piece, which I immediately decided on. It really suits the atmosphere of my home, and I'm glad I bought it. Thank you very much.

I bought a Persian rug from an online shop for the first time.
I was a bit anxious about buying a Persian rug online because its appearance can change so much depending on the light, but the polite and thorough answers I received when I called to ask questions put me at ease and I went ahead with the purchase.
Although the actual rug was a little darker than expected, I'm delighted to have found such a wonderful item that met my expectations.
They also handled my request for a tapestry finish quickly and with great care, making for a very pleasant shopping experience.
The finish was also meticulously done and beautiful.
I would definitely like to use their services again.

This was my first purchase. I had been looking for a Gabbeh for my living room and had seen many in person, but I couldn't find anything that really spoke to me. Then I found one on your website and it was love at first sight, so I bought it immediately. I was a little worried about buying something based solely on an image, but the actual product was just as wonderful as I imagined. The packaging was also very careful, and it even came with a letter! Thank you so much for the beautiful Persian tapestry as well. I've hung it in my entryway. I look forward to shopping with you again if the opportunity arises.
