Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are made from vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, creating a rug deeply rooted in their daily lives. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye unevenness. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products. Also, Gabbehs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool. This odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, we can remove the pompoms attached to the corners and middle of the Gabbeh before delivery. Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
