"Līz" means "fine" in Persian, and "bāf" means "weave."

Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps in temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven, thread by thread, by Iranian nomads, resulting in a plush and comfortable Gabbeh.
A well-woven Gabbeh is highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbehs are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool even in hot weather.
And above all, there's its artistic quality. Gabbehs created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original, one-of-a-kind item.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but are also artistic enough to be hung on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dye may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping
If requested, we can remove the pompoms located at the corners and along the edges of the Gabbeh before shipping.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
