Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are deeply rooted in their way of life, made from plant-dyed wool with a long pile. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and for its soft, pleasant feel, rich in natural oils that help regulate body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven fiber by fiber by Iranian nomads from this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is so durable that it is said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, offering a cool feel.
And above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original and unique item.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, dye unevenness, etc. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of it in advance.
