Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is rich in natural oils, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, skillfully regulating body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh also has the characteristic of being warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing it from feeling hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being an original and unique piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
