Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads after dyeing this wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, uneven weaving, and uneven dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
