Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh, made by hand-weaving this wool with natural dyes by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are so durable that they are said to last 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from the harsh temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, with the characteristic of not feeling hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created imaginatively by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor, of course, but also hung on walls as art.
How about finding your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
