Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using wool dyed with natural dyes. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, developed for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture containing a high amount of oil to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, creating a cool sensation.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, making each one a unique and original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug that you can enjoy for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinctive smell from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
