Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are made from vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads by hand, strand by strand, using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel.
And, of course, their artistic quality is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If stains are a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we kindly ask for your understanding in advance.

Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
