Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for effective temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads one by one with this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting excellent durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, so they don't feel hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique original.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
Please note that the odor will gradually disappear with use.
