Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomadic tribe, who hand-weave them using plant-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps in temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.
And, above all, their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original, one-of-a-kind item.
They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can use for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
