Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, everyday rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
These Gabbeh rugs, dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but are also artistic enough to be displayed on walls.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used for the wool may occur.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping
If requested, the pompoms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipment.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
