Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft and pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, allows for effective thermoregulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran who dye this wool with natural dyes and meticulously hand-weave each strand, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from the extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, providing a cool sensation.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, imagined and created by nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, and each piece is a unique original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find a special Gabbeh just for you, one that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a wet cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but we kindly ask for your understanding in advance.
