Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled rugs, deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, hand-woven from naturally dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
Gabbeh, hand-woven strand by strand by Iranian nomads using this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their soft and fluffy, comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.

Daily Care

Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung-out towel or similar. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Points to Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping

The pompoms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
