Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, grass-dyed wool rugs woven by hand by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
