Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool by the Qashqai nomads who wander the Zagros Mountains in Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant-to-the-touch texture contains a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively.
These Gabbeh rugs, dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven one by one by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.

Daily Care

Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

As these are hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pom-poms can be removed upon request

The pom-poms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
