Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using long-pile wool dyed with natural dyes, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature, resulting in soft and pleasant-feeling wool. Gabbeh rugs, meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are so durable that they are said to last for 100 years. Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feeling. And, above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imagination often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish forever?
Daily Care
Remove dust and debris by vacuuming or sweeping along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with water to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to its hand-woven nature, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
