Characteristics of Hand-Woven Persian Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile carpets hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in oils that effectively regulate body temperature. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven carefully one by one by Iranian nomads using this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, indicating their superior durability. Gabbeh rugs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing comfort even in heat. And above all, their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created by the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed as art on walls. Why not find a special Gabbeh that you can cherish and use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present. This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms located on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
