Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai nomads who weave them by hand in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and features a soft, pleasant texture with high oil content for effective body temperature regulation. These rugs are hand-woven one by one by Iranian nomads, dyed with natural dyes, and are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, demonstrating its superior durability. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are also warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original piece. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may occur. This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.

Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
