Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-pile rugs rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai tribe, who herd in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and contains a lot of oil to regulate body temperature well, resulting in soft and pleasant-to-the-touch wool. Gabbeh woven by Iranian nomads, meticulously hand-knotting each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture. A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability. Daily Care

Remove dust and debris with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. If you notice dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth or towel until it is damp, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
