Features of Persian hand-woven Gabbeh rugs
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadic in Iran's Zagros Mountains, and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and Gabbeh rugs hand-woven meticulously by Iranian nomads, thread by thread, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing heat buildup.
And, above all, their artistic quality is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being an original, one-of-a-kind item.
They can, of course, be laid on the floor, but they can also be hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar cloth. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to its hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
