Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadic in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. These long-piled rugs are made from vegetable-dyed wool and are deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product comes from sheep living in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, giving it excellent durability and a soft texture with high lanolin content for superior thermoregulation. The Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbehs are so durable they are said to last for 100 years. Created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbehs are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool. And then there's the artistry. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
