Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, as well as a soft and pleasant texture rich in oils that effectively regulate body temperature. Gabbeh, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads one strand at a time from this wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel. A tightly woven Gabbeh is so durable that it is said to last for 100 years. Originating from a climate with significant diurnal temperature differences, Gabbeh are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing a feeling of heat. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique original. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the nap of the rug. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, as well as weaving and dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

The tassels attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery. Removing the tassels does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
