Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in daily life, hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively. Gabbeh rugs, made by carefully hand-weaving this wool dyed with natural dyes, one by one, by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel. Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting outstanding durability. Born from a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And above all, there is its artistry. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile. If concerned about stains: dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Points to Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-weaving. Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present. This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed upon request for shipping

The pom-poms on the corners and sides of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping upon your request. Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
