Gabbeh are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in oil content to regulate body temperature effectively.
Gabbeh, hand-woven by Iranian nomads strand by strand using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing unevenness. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may occur.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, we can ship Gabbeh with the pompoms on the corners or in the middle removed.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
