Gabbeh are long-pile rugs woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the pile.
If dirt is a concern: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel or similar cloth firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry it in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please be aware that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool.
