Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool with a long pile that is deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps regulate body temperature.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and each Gabbeh is carefully hand-woven by Iranian nomads, resulting in a soft and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh rugs, created in a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them feel cool even in hot weather.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilventilated shade.

Please Note

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a distinct odor from the dye used for the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pom-poms can be removed before shipping

The pom-poms on the corners or in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
