Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh are long-piled rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils to help regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh, woven with wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are also known for being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing a feeling of heat.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Tassels can also be removed for shipping.

The tassels attached to the corners or sides of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the tassels does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
