Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-piled rugs woven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, necessary for survival in the harsh Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils for effective body temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh are woven by hand, thread by thread, by Iranian nomads after the wool has been dyed with natural dyes, resulting in a fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last 100 years, boasting superior durability.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, making them comfortable even in hot weather.
And, of course, there's their artistic quality. The Gabbeh created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, making each piece unique and one-of-a-kind.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Use a vacuum cleaner or broom to remove dust and debris along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye variations. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a unique smell from the dyes used on the wool.
This smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

If requested, the pom-poms attached to the corners and sides of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
