Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs woven by hand by the Qashqai nomads of the Zagros Mountains in Iran, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian variant wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for living in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft and pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, allows for effective temperature regulation.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads thread by thread after dyeing the wool with natural dyes, are characterized by their plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling.
And, above all, there is their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature animal and plant designs, and each piece is a unique, one-of-a-kind original.

Daily Care

Use a vacuum cleaner or broom to remove dirt and dust along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can be removed upon shipment

The pompoms on the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
