Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadize in Iran's Zagros Mountains, using vegetable-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily life. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and it possesses a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content to regulate body temperature effectively.
This wool is dyed with natural dyes and then meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, resulting in Gabbeh rugs that are fluffy and pleasant to the touch.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing overheating.
And above all, their artistic quality is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs, imaginatively created by nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, one-of-a-kind item.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, one that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Please Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be slight distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pom-poms can be removed before shipping.

The pom-poms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pom-poms will not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish for the pom-poms to be removed before shipping, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
