Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh

Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool to create long-pile rugs deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product comes from sheep that have adapted to the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, developing excellent durability and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
These rugs are dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, resulting in a plush and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are known for their exceptional durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme daily temperature differences, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel.

Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel or cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to their hand-woven nature, there may be slight irregularities in shape, pattern, weaving, and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven products.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping

If requested, the pompoms on the corners and edges of the Gabbeh can be removed before shipping.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
