Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads who roam the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are long-pile rugs made from vegetable-dyed wool, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, essential for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content for effective body temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, resulting in a Gabbeh with a fluffy and comfortable texture.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering comfort even in hot weather.
And, above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the nomads' imaginations, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They are not only perfect for placing on the floor but also beautiful enough to be displayed as art on a wall.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water, wring out a towel thoroughly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a clean, damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
As these are hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and variations in dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
Pompoms can be removed upon shipment

Removing the pompoms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
