Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven rugs made by the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically live in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a lot of oil to effectively regulate body temperature.
These Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven by Iranian nomads one strand at a time using naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and comfortable texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, indicating their excellent durability.
Born from a climate with significant temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there is their artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool and silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung out towel or similar. Afterwards, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape, pattern, weave, and dye. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used on the wool may be present.
The odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed before shipping.
The pompoms on the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you wish to have the pompoms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
