Characteristics of Persian hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads, who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and a soft, pleasant texture with a high oil content to regulate body temperature effectively. These Gabbeh rugs, woven by Iranian nomads by hand, strand by strand, from wool dyed with natural dyes, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant texture. Strongly woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years. Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with drastic temperature differences between day and night, are also characterized by being warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, preventing feelings of heat. And above all, there is their artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs created from the nomads' imaginations often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece. They can be laid on the floor or even displayed on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt with a vacuum cleaner or broom, sweeping in the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Please Note
As these are hand-woven, there may be variations in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present. The scent will gradually fade with use, but we ask for your understanding in advance.
