Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, and dye unevenness. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may be present. The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Pompoms can be removed before shipping.

The pompoms attached to the corners or sides of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipment. Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
