Daily Care

Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a cloth tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with water to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.

Important Notes

Due to being hand-woven, there may be variations in shape, pattern distortion, weaving irregularities, and dye inconsistencies. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool. The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.

Tassels can be removed before shipping

If requested, the tassels attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed before delivery. Removing the tassels does not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
