Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai tribe, nomadic people who roam the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are dyed with natural dyes and deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Valiant" wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps in temperature regulation. Gabbeh rugs, hand-woven piece by piece by Iranian nomads using this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last up to 100 years. Gabbeh rugs, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool sensation. And, above all, their artistry is remarkable. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique original. They can be used on the floor or even displayed as art on walls. Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug, one you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile. For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue and air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to being hand-woven, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, and irregularities in weaving and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item. Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique scent from the wool dye may occur. This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
