Characteristics of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, hand-woven carpets made by the Qashqai nomadic tribe in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, using plant-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product, originating from the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possesses excellent durability for survival and contains ample natural oils to regulate body temperature, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
These Gabbeh rugs, dyed with natural dyes and meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, one strand at a time, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their durability, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs also have the characteristic of being warm in winter and breathable in summer, preventing feelings of heat.
And above all, there's their artistic quality. The Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to its hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, weaving irregularities, and dyeing irregularities. Please consider these as part of the charm of hand-weaving.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Consequently, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Removing the pom-poms will not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
