Gabbeh are long-piled, vegetable-dyed wool rugs hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads inhabiting the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian variant wool used in this product is known for its excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and for its soft, pleasant texture rich in natural oils, which helps with temperature regulation.

Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, and let it dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, as well as unevenness in weaving and dyeing. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique scent from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.
Pompoms can be removed upon request.
The pompoms attached to the corners or middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pompoms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
