Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, naturally dyed wool carpets woven by the Qashqai nomads who inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The "Persian Variant" wool used in this product possesses excellent durability for surviving the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps in temperature regulation.
The wool is dyed with natural dyes, and each Gabbeh is meticulously hand-woven by Iranian nomads, resulting in a plush and pleasant feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are renowned for their durability, said to last for 100 years.
Gabbeh, born from the drastic temperature differences between day and night in the region, is warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing it from feeling hot.
And above all, its artistic quality is exceptional. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique, original item.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom, following the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent residue, then air dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, as well as inconsistencies in weaving and dyeing. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven product.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the wool dyes may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
