Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh Rugs
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the lives of the Qashqai nomads, who hand-weave them using plant-dyed wool in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and its soft, pleasant texture, rich in natural oils, helps with body temperature regulation.
Gabbeh rugs, made by nomads in Iran meticulously hand-weaving each strand of this naturally dyed wool, are characterized by their fluffy and pleasant feel.
A tightly woven Gabbeh is said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, creating a cool sensation.
And above all, there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, with each one being a unique, original piece.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
If concerned about stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Notes
Due to its hand-woven nature, there may be some distortion in shape and pattern, as well as uneven weaving and dyeing. Please consider these as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
Please note that the odor will gradually dissipate with use.
