Characteristics of Persian Handwoven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile, naturally dyed wool rugs handwoven by the Qashqai nomads in the Zagros Mountains of Iran, deeply rooted in their daily lives. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains and is soft and pleasant to the touch, containing a lot of oil to regulate body temperature effectively. Gabbeh rugs, made from this wool dyed with natural dyes and meticulously handwoven by Iranian nomads, are characterized by their plush and comfortable texture. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years. Gabbeh, born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, is warm in winter and well-ventilated in summer, providing a cool feeling. And above all, there is its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature animal and plant designs, with each piece being a unique, one-of-a-kind original. They can be laid on the floor or even hung on a wall as art. Why not find your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel firmly, and gently wipe the surface. Then, thoroughly wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent and dry in a well-ventilated shaded area.
Please Note
Due to the handwoven nature, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, as well as variations in weaving and dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of handwoven items. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a unique smell from the dye used on the wool. The scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
