Features of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the daily lives of the Qashqai tribe, who nomadically inhabit the Zagros Mountains in Iran. They are hand-woven using naturally dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product, developed to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, possesses excellent durability and a soft, pleasant texture with a high fat content, allowing for effective temperature regulation.
The Gabbeh, woven meticulously by hand, strand by strand, by Iranian nomads using this natural dyed wool, is characterized by its plush and comfortable feel.
Well-woven Gabbeh are said to last for 100 years, boasting exceptional durability.
Born from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing overheating.
And above all, there's its artistic quality. Gabbeh created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece with no two alike.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with water to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to its hand-woven nature, there may be slight distortions in shape and pattern, as well as uneven weaving and dyeing. Please consider these characteristics as part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dyes used to color the wool may be present.
This odor will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
