Characteristics of Persian Hand-Woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are long-pile rugs deeply rooted in the life of the Qashqai nomads who hand-weave them in the Zagros Mountains of Iran using vegetable-dyed wool. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing the sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a lot of oil for good temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture.
The Gabbeh, hand-woven meticulously one strand at a time by Iranian nomads using this natural-dyed wool, is characterized by its fluffy and comfortable feel.
A well-woven Gabbeh is said to last 100 years, boasting excellent durability.
Created in a climate with severe temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and airy in summer, preventing you from feeling hot.
And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, with each one being a unique, original item.
They can be laid on the floor or even hung on the wall as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh that you can use for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, and gently wipe the surface with a tightly wrung towel or similar. Then, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove the detergent, and dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Points to Note
Due to its hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape and pattern, uneven weaving, and uneven dyeing. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Also, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, a unique odor from the dye used for the wool may occur.
The smell will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of this in advance.

Removing the pompoms does not adversely affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
