Features of Persian hand-woven Gabbeh rugs
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads, who migrate through the Zagros Mountains in Iran. These rugs are deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed wool with long piles. The Persian Valiant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing sheep to survive in the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains. It also contains a high fat content, making it soft and pleasant to the touch, and adept at regulating body temperature.
Gabbeh rugs, made by Iranian nomads who hand-weave each strand of this natural-dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and pleasant texture.
Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are highly durable, said to last for 100 years.
Originating from a climate with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a sensation of coolness.
And above all, there is its artistic quality. Gabbeh rugs, created from the imagination of nomads, often feature designs of animals and plants, making each one a unique, original piece.
They can, of course, be placed on the floor, but are also beautiful enough to be hung on walls as art.
Why not find your own special Gabbeh rug that you can cherish for a long time?
Daily Care
Remove dust and dirt by vacuuming or sweeping along the pile.
For stubborn stains: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water and gently wipe the surface with a well-wrung towel. Afterward, wipe thoroughly with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then air dry in a well-ventilated shade.
Important Notes
Due to the hand-woven nature, there may be distortions in shape or pattern, weaving irregularities, or dyeing irregularities. Please understand that these are part of the charm of a hand-woven item.
Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. As a result, there may be a unique odor from the dyes used on the wool.
This scent will gradually dissipate with use, but please be aware of it beforehand.
Pom-poms can also be removed before shipping.
The pom-poms located at the corners and in the middle of the Gabbeh can be removed upon request before shipping.
Removing the pom-poms does not negatively affect the quality or durability of the Gabbeh.
If you would like to have the pom-poms removed before shipment, please feel free to contact us via email or phone below.
