Features of Persian Hand-woven Gabbeh
Gabbeh rugs are hand-woven by the Qashqai nomads living in the Zagros Mountains of Iran. They are deeply rooted in their daily lives, made from plant-dyed wool with a long pile. The Persian Variant wool used in this product has excellent durability, allowing it to survive the harsh environment of the Zagros Mountains, and contains a high amount of lanolin for effective temperature regulation, resulting in a soft and pleasant texture. Gabbeh rugs, woven meticulously by Iranian nomads using this natural dyed wool, are characterized by their plush and comfortable feel. Well-woven Gabbeh rugs are said to last for 100 years, boasting superior durability. Originating from a climate with extreme temperature differences between day and night, Gabbeh rugs are warm in winter and breathable in summer, offering a cool feel. And above all, there is its artistry. Gabbeh rugs created from the imagination of nomads often feature designs of animals and plants, with each piece being a unique original. They can be placed on the floor or even displayed as art on walls. Why not discover your own special Gabbeh, a rug you can cherish for a lifetime?
Daily Care
Remove dirt and dust with a vacuum cleaner or broom along the direction of the pile. For stubborn dirt: Dilute a neutral detergent (for wool/silk) with water, wring out a towel tightly, and gently wipe the surface. Afterward, carefully wipe with a damp cloth to remove any detergent, then dry in a well-ventilated, shaded area.
Important Notes
Due to being hand-woven, there may be irregularities in shape and pattern, weaving inconsistencies, and dyeing inconsistencies. Please understand that these are part of the charm of hand-woven items. Additionally, Gabbeh rugs are woven from sheep's wool. Therefore, there may be a distinctive odor from the dyes used to color the wool. The odor will gradually disappear with use, but please be aware of this beforehand.
